Plain-English summary: SkuEstimator runs on your computer. Your models, prices, customers and estimates are stored locally and are never uploaded to us. We hold no copy of your work. Apart from a small licence check and anything you choose to send to the optional AI assistant, nothing leaves your machine. Details below.
The personal information we hold is limited to what we need to sell you a licence and support you:
We do not run analytics or tracking on this website, and the plugin contains no telemetry of any kind. Apart from the licence check described below, we cannot see whether you installed it, opened it, or what you did with it.
Everything the plugin creates lives on your own machine. None of it is transmitted to us, and we have no ability to read it.
.skp file — document edits, processed flags, colour assignments and the active customer job. These follow the SketchUp save cycle: close without saving and they are discarded.Because this data is local, it is your responsibility to back it up. The plugin includes a one-click backup tool for exactly this.
The licence check. To confirm your licence, the extension sends our licence server (hosted by Cloudflare) your licence key, an anonymous device code and your computer’s name. The device code is a one-way hash, so it cannot be turned back into any hardware or account detail; the computer name lets you see which machines use your 2 seats. We record when each computer last checked in. The check runs in the background, and the extension keeps working offline for up to 30 days. Nothing about your models, estimates, prices or customers is ever sent.
The optional AI assistant.
When you issue an AI command, the relevant component context for that request — attributes, item codes, the figures involved — is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to be answered. If you attach a reference document and ask a question about it, that document is sent for that request.
Nothing is sent unless you initiate it. The AI assistant is entirely optional, requires you to supply your own API key, and every other feature — estimating, documents, pricing, rules, purchase orders — works with no internet connection at all.
Optional voice dictation, if you enable it, sends the audio you record to OpenAI’s transcription API. Same principle: your key, your choice, off by default.
Anthropic and OpenAI involve international data transfer, since neither company processes solely in Australia. That is why both are optional and off until you turn them on.
No tracking cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording. Fonts are served from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when you load a page. Nothing else about your visit is recorded.
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them. From Stripe we receive and keep your email address, billing name and address, ABN if you give one, and your subscription status and invoice history.
Retention. We keep billing records for 7 years, as Australian tax law requires. Licence and device records are kept while your subscription exists and for 12 months after it ends, then deleted.
Emails. We send only transactional emails: your licence key, receipts, and trial-ending and failed-payment notices. Stripe sends some of these on our behalf. No marketing emails.
Under the Australian Privacy Act, and the GDPR where it applies, you may access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you. In practice that means your subscription and licence records and any support correspondence — we hold nothing else. Billing records we must keep for tax purposes cannot be deleted before the 7-year period ends.
Email [email protected] and we will respond within 7 business days and complete the request within 30 days. To remove your locally stored plugin data, delete the application-data folder; the plugin’s documentation tells you where it is.
